Description
Creality K2 Plus Strain Gauge – Auto-Leveling Sensor – Genuine OEM Replacement
The Creality K2 Plus Strain Gauge is a genuine OEM replacement leveling sensor designed specifically for the Creality K2 Plus 3D Printer. Installed within the printhead assembly, this precision sensor detects small forces applied to the nozzle and plays an important role in the printer’s automatic bed leveling and calibration system.
By detecting nozzle contact and pressure changes, the strain gauge helps the printer accurately determine the relationship between the nozzle and build surface, contributing to reliable first layers and consistent printing performance.
Product Function
The strain gauge acts as a highly sensitive force sensor within the K2 Plus toolhead. During automatic calibration and leveling procedures, it detects physical forces transmitted through the nozzle.
Its functions help support:
- Automatic bed leveling
- Nozzle contact detection
- Precise Z-axis calibration
- Accurate nozzle-to-bed positioning
- Consistent first-layer height
- Improved first-layer adhesion
- Reliable automatic printer calibration
Creality identifies this component specifically as the K2 Plus Strain Gauge – Leveling Sensor.

When Should It Be Replaced?
Consider replacing the strain gauge when experiencing:
- Automatic leveling errors
- Inconsistent first-layer height
- Nozzle leveling sensor errors
- Failed calibration procedures
- Abnormal nozzle contact detection
- Visible deformation or physical damage to the sensor
Creality specifically notes that a deformed or damaged strain gauge can trigger nozzle leveling sensor errors. One possible cause is impact between the nozzle and a detached or deformed nozzle-wiper module.
Installation
The strain gauge is located inside the K2 Plus printhead assembly, beneath several toolhead components. Replacement requires partial disassembly of the printhead, including removal of the extruder and hotend components. After replacement, Creality instructs users to run the printer's Self-Check procedure.
Because of the amount of toolhead disassembly required, installation is best performed by someone comfortable servicing 3D printer mechanical and electronic components.
Package Includes
- 1 × Creality K2 Plus Strain Gauge / Leveling Sensor
Important Notes
This is the strain gauge leveling sensor, not a conventional external probe such as a CR Touch. The sensor is integrated into the K2 Plus printhead and detects mechanical force through the nozzle during calibration.
Always power off and unplug the printer and allow the hotend to cool before beginning replacement.
